மாயா (M.I.A.) எனும் ஆங்கில பாடகியை தெரியுமா ? மாதங்கி 'மாயா' அருள்ப்ரகாசம் http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.I.A._%28artist%29. முக்கியமானது இவர் தமிழினத்திற்காக தொடர்ந்து பாடும் ஒரே பாடகி என்பது தான். பாரதிக்கு பிறகு புரட்சி பாடும் ஒரே தமிழர் இவர் தான் [ஆனால் ஆங்கிலத்தில்] இவரின் Sunshowers வீடியோ மிகவும் பிரச்சித்தமானது.
சமீபத்தில் மாயாவின்(MIA) வின் “Born Free” வீடியோவை பார்க்க நேர்ந்தது. அதில் அரச வன்முறை இன பாகுபாட்டுடன் இளைஞர்களின் மேல் செயல்படும் விவரத்தை தோலுரித்து காட்டி இருந்தார். இப்படத்தில் மனிதர்களின் தனிப்பட்ட அந்தரங்கங்கள் மோசமான முறையில் மீறப்படுவதும், மனிதர்கள் மிருகங்கள் போல் நடத்தப்படுவதும் சித்தரிக்கப்படுகிறது. இவ்வீடியோவை யுஸ் அரசாங்கம் தடை செய்துள்ளது. YouTube இருந்தும் நீக்கபட்டுள்ளது. ஏனெனில் சித்தரிக்க பட்டுள்ளது, யுஸ் வீரர்கள் அந்நாட்டின் சிறுபான்மையினரை துன்புறுத்துவது போல.

சிலருக்கு வீடியோவின் சில காட்சிகள் ஆபாசமாகவும், வன்முறையாக தோன்றலாம். [குழந்தைகள் பார்க்க வேண்டாம். அலுவலகத்தில் பார்க்க வேண்டாம்] ஆனால் நாமெல்லாம் சக இனத்தவர்கள் தலையில் சுட்டதையும், பிணங்களை கற்பழித்ததையும், ஆனந்தர்களின் வீடியோக்களையும் கூசாமல் நடுவீட்டில் அமைதியாக பார்த்தவர்களாயிற்றே ?! சலன படத்தில் உள்ள கருத்தை முன்னிட்டு இதையும் பார்க்கலாம் தப்பில்லை.

என்ன நடந்தாலும் தங்களின் பண வருவாயை மட்டுமே குறியாக இருக்கும் தமிழக கலைஞர்கள் தங்களது சூடு சொரணையை சோதித்து கொள்ள செய்யும் அளவிற்கு இச்சலனப்படம் உள்ளது தான் சிறப்பு. இவ்வீடியோ வெளிவந்தது ஏப்ரல் மாதம்!!! இசை விமர்சகர்கள் என்று தம்பட்டம் அடிப்பவர்கள் கூட இதைப்பற்றி அதிகம் எழுதாதது வியப்பிற்குறியது.
இப்பாடலை தனியாக கேட்கும் போது இசை மிகவும் ஏமாற்றம் அளித்தது போல இருந்தது. ஆனால் சலனப்படம் பாடலின் உயிரோட்டத்தை நமக்கு உணர்த்துகிறது.

the great thing about the video is it really reflects one’s thoughts on pop music and culture. It can be as vapid and pointless as you want it to be, but if you really want to give it a chance, the second viewing can be so much more rewarding.
